The Okaz Organisation, a leading newspaper publisher in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, commissioned SAK to design and supervise a new press complex in Jeddah. This new facility was required because the existing old press complex could not accommodate any future extensions within the site and the machinery used for the press was old to cope up with the new technology.
The design includes a basement car park, warehouses and maintenance rooms; the ground floor main entrance, showrooms, press room, ICT facility and administration areas; second floor Okaz editorial offices; and third floor Board, management, administration and finance office accommodation.
The Okaz Organisation selected SAK to provide a complete design package from inception to completion for the 41,586 m2 project. This included the feasibility study, concept design, schematic design, detailed design, tender package, traffic study and construction supervision as per the design brief.
